3 Youtube channels worth watching (I)

In this post I decided to share some of my favourite Youtube channels related to Illustration:

  • Pete Beard’s Youtube Channel, where he rescues master illustrators from the dusts of time. For example, in Unsung heroes of Illustration 1 he unveils the works of artists Eugene Zimmerman (“Zim”), Harry Rountree, Willy Pogany and Arthur Szyk — I specially liked Zim and Rountree. As Pete points, it is a pity that such good illustrators are so poorly known… luckily there are people in the present who tries to preserve their memories.

  • Naoki Urasawa’s Youtube Channel, where one can admire one of Japan’s comic masters solving manga pages and sharing his insights on visual storytelling.

  • Lion Yanconsky Youtube Channel, where he explains beautifuly the art of watercolor, with plain language and clear focus. A good way to grab and understand the basics of watercolor.
